Songwriting

With his first headlining tour in America coming up, Ed Sheeran is on his way to the top. He has added an Atlanta tour date and is scheduled to play a sold out show at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 7.

I am extremely happy that this success is happening for him. He is a talented musician and works hard. Although he sings and plays the guitar, I feel his true talent is in his songwriting and that it will become his legacy. He has such a way with words it amazes me.

Sheeran co-wrote a song called "Everything Has Changed" on Taylor Swift's new album Red and has written songs for the British-Irish boy band One Direction. One Direction's newest single "Little Things" hit the number one spot on the U.K. charts. Sheeran wrote Little Things at the age of 17 with his friend Fiona Bevan. The lyrics of this song say what every teenage girl wants to hear from that one special person in their life. That their little imperfections are what their boyfriend loves the most.

Lines like "I know you never loved the sound of your voice on tape, you never want to know now much you weigh, you still have to squeeze into your jeans but you're perfect to me" and "you'll never treat yourself right darling but I want you to, if I let you know I'm here for you, maybe you'll love yourself like I love you" have melted the hearts of millions of girls around the world because Sheeran was in love.

If Sheeran was writing like that back when he was a teenager and now at the age of 21, I can only imagine what he will produce with in the future.
